In what sense is business language special?

A new global terminology has developed: the economic language. New expressions were born in the bank trade. These are connected to the organization of the moving of the goods and the exploration of the places of production and selling, cheap manpower, and the sufficient suppliers.

Business language is different from the flexible common language use, and is very concrete in order to eliminate the ambiguity. A large vocabulary belongs to it.

The economic or business language is less considered as the terminology of a social circle, it is useful for everyone nowadays. In case of the communication at work and in the offices, almost everyone who wants to enter employment abroad or sells products for foreigners on the global market is dependent on the economic or business language. Fluent calls and correspondence are required at every workplace. Manifestation with gestures towards the colleges is important for everyone.

Why is it worth for a native English investor coming to Hungary?

My American and Anglo-Saxon customers arrive in Hungary often with a vision. Ten years after the change of regime settled the biggest companies into our land. Hungary was the America of the decade, where everything was possible due to the cheaper manpower, the less strict prescriptions connected to labour safety and the environment, and the lower costs of production and the enthusiastic buyer’s market. There was a great demand for company language courses in Budapest. In the second decade of the new regime the smaller businesses started to grow. Their return was lower, but they arrived in a larger number. The demand for products the West is full of with is still big these days.

We can draw the conclusion that there is notable perspective in the Hungarian, Russian and German business language courses.

Why is German language so important?

Hungary has been belonging to the Austro-German sphere of interest since time immemorial. German meant the language of keeping in touch; that is, the language of earning profit for the Austro-Germanic efforts towards the East. The exploration of the possibilities of the country drives them usually to Budapest. Hungarian citizens have searched for the local possibilities to companies owned by Austro-German people. Thus, language schools have fungated in Budapest after the change of regime. Many banks belong to German owners, the main telecommunication companies are also kept in German possession. Electricity and alternative energy are provided by German companies; all the do-it-yourself stores are Austrian or German; supermarkets, housing estates and institutes are built by German building companies. And the line could be continued.

The spread of the German language knowledge is urged by the flow of workforce to the West. In Germany, there is a lack of manpower in case of a few professions. These are for example the hygiene, nursing, agriculture and informatics. There is a limitless demand in the field of physical manpower (e.g., garden -and housework) too. On the German speech area it is especially true that the German language knowledge is a basic condition if one wants to apply for a job.
